'The Mixed Tape' - OUT NOW!

Listen HERE!

Saturday 27th April // Samuel James Routledge // The Roadhouse, Manchester

Saturday is almost upon us!!!

As you may know, on Saturday evening I’ll be performing a headline show at The Roadhouse in my hometown of Manchester. It’s my first performance back home since I left for London just over 6 months ago, so as you can probably imagine I’m preeeeetty excited!

We also wanted to use this event to celebrate my up-coming debut release – ‘The Mixed Tape’ – so it’s all very exciting and I hope it will be a wonderful evening.

So now I’d like to invite you all to come and join in the fun! You can still get tickets online via The Roadhouse website or through the Facebook event , or alternatively some tickets will be available on the door on the night BUT don’t leave it too late!!

I hope you can be there to join us.

Thanks for all your support!

Progress // Dublin // Reminiscing

Hi guys and girls.

I just thought I’d give you a little update on my week so far….

I’ve been frantically sorting stuff out for the release of ‘The Mixed Tape’ – does anything ever run smoothly?! Ah well, It will be out in the next few weeks that is for sure!

In the meantime I’m heading up to Manchester to play a great little venue called The Roadhouse. Really looking forward to this one as I haven’t performed back in my hometown since I moved to London over six months ago. If you are reading this and fancy coming along then follow the link HERE to find out more about the event.

Most of my day to day has been getting organised for a trip to Dublin this weekend. I can’t wait for a little break AND I’ve never been to Ireland so it’s going to be lots of exploring followed by lots of Guinness!

Summer 2010 - Glastonbury

Summer 2010 – Glastonbury

Whilst sorting stuff for the trip I came across and old playlist on my iTunes titled ‘Uni BBQ’ – Let the reminiscing begin! This is going back three years now and I have to say I was pretty impressed with my choice of music. Quite eclectic you might agree…. ;-) But a fantastic summer to end Uni and have some fun!

Here’s a shorten list of some of my favourites; Badly Drawn Boy, Blur, Bloc Party, Calvin Harris, Counting Crows, Chris Wallbank & The Cowards, David Bowie, Deplhic, The Doors, The Eels, Fat Freddy’s Drop, Feist, Fleetwood Mac and Hall and Oates…. I won’t go on any more. But just thought I’d share that with you all.

Thanks for reading. I’ll post again soon.

‘The Mixed Tape’ // Manchester // Collaboration // New video

How are we all?

I’m very happy to announce that ‘The Mixed Tape’ is now finished! Big thanks to Wayne and Tom for all their help in the studio. Couldn’t have done it without them. I’ll be deciding on a release date very soon, so keep your ears out.

Bedside light in my room at home.

My time back at home was lovely as usual, it’s always nice to hang out with old friends. What surprised me the most was the weather! I couldn’t believe the sun was shining when I arrived at Piccadilly, I knew it was going to be a brilliant weekend. :-)

Whilst in the studio, Wayne, Tom and I wrote a little song together. I can’t wait to be able to show it to you all!

Finally just to let you know about the new video which is now online. It was filmed by the guys at Hits TV for my track ‘Not That Fool’ featuring my wonderful friend Emma Gage. Have a watch below.

Spring // Mixtape News // Open Mics // UK tour // Partying!

Hello everyone,

What a busy few weeks it has been!!

Last week I played two shows. One at The Wheelbarrow in Camden, hosted by the brilliant George Frakes and another at The Dissenting Academy in Newington. Both very small intimate venues where I played a mixture of original and cover tracks. A great time was had by all I hope!

So the Spring seems to be back off still. Who knows when the weather will improve?! But with all of this out of our control I have some exciting news to help us all through!

The Melrose – Open Mic.

I’ve been playing a few open mic nights to try out some new material. I’d really recommend The Melrose in Shepard’s Bush. Mike Gill runs a quality night and what a vibe there is at that place!!

The mix-tape is almost ready!! Feels like this has been a real work in progress and now the I can see the end getting closer. Very excited for all of this to be out there for you lovely people to hear :-)

As a launch night, and to celebrate the project, I am playing back in my home town of Manchester on 27th April at The Roadhouse. See more info here if you’d like to come along!

Even more exciting news is that I have started to book a small UK Tour for the start of June. This is huge for me! I’m extremely excited to announce the dates, but for now this will have to wait… ;-)

I’d like to end today by letting you know about this awesome Party/Gig/Festival at an old warehouse in Hackney I went along to last week. Electric Domestics is the name. It was awesome!!!!! Thanks to Antonio Lulic for organising it all. And to Jon Barker for the invite!

Speak soon guys.
